British Science Week - Chemistry Workshop at Heriot-Watt

This week, during #BritishScienceWeek four S5 pupils accompanied Mr. Anderson to Heriot-Watt University to take part in SCIS' Chemistry Masterclass along with 10 other schools. 

Pupils had a great day synthesising ester molecules – chemicals that go into perfumes and aftershaves – in one of their undergraduate labs, before analysing their structure using spectroscopy.

All in all, a very successful day and the pupils had a great time!
