Preparing For the World of Work - OA Offers Advice

We had the pleasure of recently welcoming back to the College Matthew Baxter (OA 2012), Head of Euratom Alternatives within the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), to speak with our S6 pupils during Debate and Lecture. Matthew reflected on some of the opportunities and life lessons he has experienced since leaving the College and how the College prepares pupils for the wide world.

Matthew took us some of his career highlights, which has included lots of exciting opportunities that led him to where he is now. He also talked about what his present role within the UK Civil Service entails, how it has shaped his career for the better, and finally shared some useful career tips for the pupils to start embedding now. 

A huge thanks to Matthew for his inspirational presentation – the interactive exercise was a great way to get our pupils engaged! We love welcoming our OAs back on Campus to speak with our current pupils to inspire them and help them discover other opportunities beyond the Green Blazer.
