Rotary “Youth Speaks!” 2018

Congratulations to S3 pupils Humzah Razzaq, Scarlett Morris and Eva Pryce. 

Already National champions at Intermediate Level, they won 2nd place overall in Sunday’s Senior Level District Final of Rotary’s “Youth Speaks!” competition. 

This was the team’s very first year as seniors, and they managed to speak entirely without notes and commanded the stage. 

Our three 14-year-olds were the youngest competitors in the whole competition and defeated several older teams from across the district, however in the end they were narrowly beaten by St Columba’s.

The St Aloysius’ trio’s success against such accomplished older speakers is even more impressive when you consider that our main speaker was still eligible to compete at junior level! We are so proud of our pupils and are absolutely delighted with how they represented the College at Pollokshaws Burgh Hall on Sunday.
