S3 Pupils Attend Interfaith Conference

Brothers Armaan-Abbas S. and Ali-Abbas S. (S3) recently had the opportunity to be part of the Interfaith Conference held at Glasgow City Chambers, marking the 5th anniversary of the signing of the Human Fraternity document by His Holiness Pope Francis and Sheikh Al Tayyeb, current Grand Imam of al-Azhar, Al-Azhar Al Sharif and former president of al-Azhar University, Egypt.

The event featured insightful keynote speeches from Bishop Brian McGee of Argyle and the Isles, and Shaykh Dr. Shomali, renowned Muslim scholar and founding director of the Risalat International Institute, which is devoted to Islamic curriculum development and educational training, and participation in interfaith dialogue globally.

The conference focused on discussions around the key themes of the Human Fraternity document, particularly on how its principles can be applied in Scotland. Through roundtable workshops, school and university students shared perspectives on promoting dialogue and fostering a culture of mutual respect and understanding, aligned with the document's vision of uniting humanity as brothers and sisters.

What a fantastic and insightful event for boys to attend!
