Advent at St Aloysius' College
Faith and Values
Advent is the season of joyful preparation for Christmas.
As a Jesuit school, we have set aside ten minutes each day of Advent to pray the Examen in quiet reflection and contemplation.
Furthermore, pupils are making the effort to attend morning masses during Advent and enjoying the prayerful start to the day and the opportunity to socialise afterwards in the refectory where breakfast is provided for them.
A lovely feature during this season, along with our impressive Christmas tree at the main reception, is our Advent Wreathes, situated in the Sodality Chapel and the Atrium. The wreath is made from evergreen leaves which stand for eternity, God’s eternal love for us (which is evergreen, ever new) shown in the promise and birth of his Son.
