If you were an engineer, what would you do?
In January, children in Primary 6 took part in the Scottish Engineering Leaders Award. As part of this they were asked to create a unique invention to solve a problem.
This week we learned that Tomasz Ciechomski (Primary 6 Jura) has had his engineering project selected to go on display at the University of Strathclyde.
All the children who took part were asked,
"If you were an engineer in Scotland, what would you do?"
Tomasz answered by designing plans for a robotic window cleaner. He explained his inspiration "came from watching people clean really tall buildings. It is very dangerous, and I wanted to make something that would keep them safe".
Mr McClintock said,
"Tomasz put a lot of work into his design and it was a great delight to learn that he had been shortlisted by the judges. With children like Tomasz in our school, the future is in safe hands!"
His invention was shortlisted to be considered for the national competition winner!
If you would like to see Tomasz's design and the other shortlisted entries there is a public exhibition at the Barony Hall, Glasgow on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th June 2018.
