P3 Prepare for First Reconciliation

Yesterday was a very special day in Primary 3. We joined together to begin our journey towards our First Reconciliation with a special Commitment service celebrated by Fr Gerard Mitchell SJ.

In preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we are reminded of God's love for us and we have been learning in class about how this love can encourage us to be better people. The Sacrament is a very special step in our faith journey, and it is something we are looking forward to sharing with our friends and family on the 4th of March.

In our Manresa Oratory we have laid out special prayer buddy sheets, that children can come along and sign their name next to someone from Primary 3 - so that they know they are being prayed for by their friends from all over the Junior School. 

After the ceremony, we took home a special candle and prayer card that we will use to pray with our families in preparation. Some of the children even spoke about how they pray with their families at home, and everyone is looking forward to sharing a new prayer with their family. 

We pray for all of our young people as they are preparing for their First Reconciliation.
