We are excited to announce our inaugural Junior School Science Festival taking place from the 22nd to the 26th of January. For years our Dr. McDonald P7 Science Fair has been a staple of the College’s calendar – and now we are dedicating a full week to celebrate the wonders of science across our Junior School.
Science is a favourite specialist subject of many of our Junior School pupils – who spend time with our dedicated Junior School science teacher Mr. Steven McClintock each week. Throughout their time in Junior School, they learn all about various topics that range from exploring the farthest reaches of space to learning all about our own natural world and how we can take better care of it. The theme of our Science Festival is "Us" - how science affects us and how it can bring us together as a community.
On the Science Festival, Mr. McClintock added;
“At St Aloysius' College Junior School, we are dedicated to fostering curiosity, igniting a passion for discovery, and nurturing the budding scientists within our school community.
“Our Science Festival aims to create an immersive and engaging environment where students can explore the wonders of science through hands-on experiments, interactive demonstrations, and collaborative activities.
“We aspire to inspire a lifelong love for learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving by showcasing the marvels of the scientific world in a fun and accessible manner. Through the Science Festival, we aim to empower our students to ask questions, think creatively, and embrace the exciting journey of scientific exploration. Together, let's spark the flames of curiosity and cultivate a future generation of inquisitive minds that will contribute to the progress and understanding of our world.”
