The fabulous Junior School Mathematicians have been buzzing with excitement this week as Maths Week Scotland 2021 got underway!
Primary 1 have been exploring properties of 2D shapes, playing dice party games, and making shape crowns for our Friday Maths costume competition. Primary 2 were solving number problems for the Gruffalo while Primary 3 explored number and helped Noah calculate the animals that went onto the ark!
Primary 4 classes were amazed to discover and explore Escher tessellations, producing a class reptile tessellation before exploring with their own tessellation tiles, and Primary 5 enjoyed collaborative and competitive maths games and dazzled their teachers with their amazing 6 card trick!
Meanwhile, Primary 6 persevered to crack the shape code and enjoyed a variety of number puzzles which encouraged them to dig deeper and have fun exploring numbers.
Primary 7 explored the amazing world of multiplying by 11 and completed several challenges, demonstrated excellent Mathematics knowledge as they explored and explained their strategies to their peers.
