S1 Boys Progress to National Football Finals

Congratulations to the S1 boys who won the regional qualifier of the SFA Cashback Football 7s tournament, U13 category. This followed on from the S1 Boys’ Football winning the District qualifier earlier this term.

The tournament took place at Renfrew Football club, and the St Aloysius team beat good competition from other local schools including The High School of Glasgow and Rosshall. The boys also drew against Notre Dame and Paisley.

Having won this qualifier, the team will now progress to the National Final, on Tuesday 6th June at Toryglen Indoor Arena.

Mr Meechan, who coached the team, along with Mr Masterson and Mr Young, said: “This was an ‘excellent performance from the whole team, and teamwork was key to the success.”

He continued: “The boys were absolutely delighted with the result, as were the coaches. It was a brilliant overall performance and we now look forward to the final!”
