S4 Pupils Successfully Complete Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition
Well done to the S4 pupils who successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expeditions over the Easter break. A team of 25 pupil headed north west to the beautiful surroundings of Loch Lomond and the Arrochar Hills to complete the 3-day expedition. Pupils divided into small teams to complete the challenge, including three teams with canoes as well as two walking groups.
Mr Bagshaw noted: “Pupils were well prepared and equipped for the challenging conditions they faced over the three day expedition.”
The D of E assessors were particularly impressed with the high standard shown by the College's pupils: “It was one of the best D of E groups he had ever had the pleasure to work with”, said one.
“This was excellent feedback from external D of E assessors and pupils should be very proud of their achievements”, Mr Bagshaw added.
Having successfully completed this section of the award, the pupils are well on their way to obtaining their silver badges. We wish them the best of luck in completing the award, which includes demonstrating their commitment to a skill, physical education and finally a voluntary work.
