We are very excited to finally be able to share with you our most recent school show - the chilling Arthur Miller play The Crucible.
Trials and tribulations, sadness and sorrows - all emotively portrayed by our amazing cast of Senior school pupils.
This recording of the play was put together by budding filmmaker Olivia R. (S6) who took the time to put together all of the performances into one big show - thank you for your hard work Olivia!
Director and Head of Drama Miss. Singh commented on the show;
“…The students and I are extremely proud of the work that we have created and were even more excited to welcome a live audience back to the College.
This piece was rehearsed over eight weeks and is a departure from the usual musical genre you are used to seeing from us. It is an ambitious project as it contains quite adult themes and is quite wordy and even harrowing in parts. This has proved to be a challenge for the students in terms of paying attention to the detail of the blocking as well as the practical task of learning lines and cues. Yet, their talent and characterisation moved me to tears more than once during the rehearsal process.
Our aim in choosing this play is to broaden the experience for our learners and to allow those students who are not singers to also have the opportunity to develop their performance skills and be given the chance to perform for a live audience. To that end we will be producing a musical and a play for alternating years, moving forward.”
