Teacher of Additional Support (4 days per week 0.8 timetable)

The College welcomes and supports all learners. The ongoing development of the Additional Support Department is a key part of the College Improvement Plan which focuses on equity and opportunity for all and is rooted in HGIOS4.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative teacher with an excellent track record working with pupils with additional support needs. We are looking for someone who can support the values and aims of the school, contributing to the development of the additional support for learning 3-18 within St Aloysius’ College and helping all learners achieve their potential.

Teachers from both primary and secondary contexts are eligible to apply.

The successful post holder must be capable of being a member of the PVG scheme run by Disclosure Scotland.  Appointments will be subject to appropriate PVG, reference, and confirmation of your Covid19 Vaccination Status checks. We strongly believe in embracing and promoting diversity in all its forms and are taking action to become a more inclusive organisation. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups for all positions which we advertise.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.  Questions related to safeguarding young people will form part of the selection process.

If you are interested in applying, application forms can be found on our website and should be completed and sent to Shona Thomson in the Human Resources Department at sthomson@staloysius.org no later than Monday 22nd November 2021. CVs will not be accepted. The interviews and selection process are expected to take place on Tuesday 30th November.

The College has a salary structure that pays over and above the national rates and is a full member of the Scottish Teachers’ Pension scheme.

There is no occupational requirement for the post holder to be Roman Catholic but an appreciation of the values and ethos of the College is essential.
