Career Talk from President of the Royal Aeronautical Society

Career Talk from President of the Royal Aeronautical Society

Our Careers department welcomed President of the Royal Aeronautical Society Ms. Kerissa Khan to the College to deliver an insightful talk of her career so far and what inspired her to follow her chosen path.

An aeronautical engineer by trade, Ms. Khan was first inspired as a child when seeing a Concorde fly above her – the feat of which amazed her and ignited a life-long passion for aviation. Now the youngest president Royal Aeronautical Society, Ms. Khan reflected on what got her here and gave us a look at what her day-to-day role looks like – from designing aircraft to working towards solutions to make the industry more sustainable for the future by looking at innovation.

As an inspiring figure in aviation, Ms. Khan reinforced the idea that it is an industry open for all who have a passion and dedication – and that it is a rewarding and diverse career path. Finishing her talk, she also spoke about how her faith helps her with her busy role and sets her up for the day, something that resonates with us as we strive to take time each day to offer our work and ourselves to God.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to speak to us Ms. Khan!
