Meet the Author- Kerr Thomson
As part of the Junior School’s ‘Meet the Author’ sessions, our Primary 5 and 6 pupils had the pleasure of meeting Scottish author Kerr Thomson.
Primary 5 are currently reading Kerr’s book ‘The Sound of Whales’, winner of the 2014 Times/Children's Fiction Competition and the 2016 Waverton Good Read Award, and they were delighted to have the opportunity to meet him in person.
Kerr spoke about his love of reading and the process involved in writing a novel. The pupils enjoyed finding out more about Kerr’s inspiration for ‘The Sound of Whales’ and were keen to know more about his latest novel, ‘The Rise of Wolves’.
Kerr was kind enough to read a passage from ‘The Sound of Whales’ and answer question from the pupils, of which there were many! He even signed their personal copies and shared some insider information about his current project.
Thank you Kerr for such an interesting and inspiring discussion. We look forward to welcoming our next author for the ‘Meet the Author’ series.
