Born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Fr Bishop went to Stonyhurst College before reading theology at Cambridge University. He qualified as a social worker at York University and then worked with homeless teenagers in London before entering the Society of Jesus.
After a BA in philosophy at Heythrop he was chaplain at Wimbledon College where he qualified as a teacher through Surrey University. He was senior school chaplain at St Aloysius College (2004 – 2008) before completing his Jesuit formation in Australia.
Fr Simon says he has a great desire to be of service to the whole of the Aloysian community so that, together, we might be ever more a sign of God’s love in a world so much in need of faith, hope, and love.
