St Aloysius’ College has a modest endowment, in comparison to other independent schools. We aim to grow our endowment fund, which has been carefully managed, in order to preserve our tradition of excellence, enhance support, and provide life-changing bursaries for talented students who might otherwise be unable to access an Aloysian education.
An endowment gift is a donation that is given with the intent to preserve the original value of the gift, and to grow it over time. The funds are held in perpetuity and invested, and the accumulated appreciation and income on the investment are used to fund an annual distribution. The annual distribution can then be used to fund bursaries and opportunities for deserving students.
Donors who wish to support in this way will have their gift added to the St Aloysius’ College (SC042545) portfolio which is under active management by, at present, Brewin Dolphin and is based on a historic yield of at least 6% - 8%. The entire portfolio is a restricted purpose fund, the proceeds of which (both income and capital growth) must be used to support the provision of Bursaries within St Aloysius’ College.
