Instrumental Lessons

Music tuition is available from specialist tutors within the College. Lessons are offered in the following disciplines:
Piano
Voice
Bagpipes
Guitar
Harp
Woodwind
Brass
Strings
Percussion

Pupils who receive lessons attend a 30-minute session once per week during the school day. They may also choose to work towards graded examinations (e.g. ABRSM, Trinity), if desired.

Co-Curricular Groups

Playing or singing as part of an ensemble enables pupils to further develop their musicianship and teamwork skills, while also enhancing their social development and providing opportunities to perform with their peers. Music groups can foster a strong sense of belonging, and we strive to ensure that there are opportunities for all pupils to engage in music beyond the classroom.

The following Junior School music groups rehearse weekly and perform regularly within the College and in the local community throughout the year:
String Group (open to all pupils who receive lessons on a string instrument, either in or out of school)
Percussion Group (open to all pupils, including complete beginners)
Training Choir (open to Primary 3 and Primary 4 pupils)
Junior Choir (open to Primary 5–7 pupils)
