Twins Raise Money for Pakistan Flood Appeal

Twins Raise Money for Pakistan Flood Appeal

Two of our S2 pupils, Armaan and Ali A., have taken the initiative to raise money for those in Pakistan that have been affected by climate change. Their fundraising efforts will go a long way in helping those in need, and are an example of their good nature and compassion. Hear from the two brothers on how they were inspired to make a difference:

"The world we hold dear is slowly being destroyed by climate change, which is affecting humanity across the globe. Pakistan has most recently been a victim of global warming, where 33 million people have been displaced and over 13000 km of landmass has been submerged.

If we experienced floods of this magnitude in the UK, the whole landmass of the UK would be underwater, and the number that would be affected would be equivalent to half of the UK population. Our religious beliefs and the values of St Aloysius' College promote and instil the importance of charity and being men and women for others. It is for these reasons that we felt compelled to take action to support the people of Pakistan.

To raise awareness, and support Pakistan, we decided to sell white ribbons for £1. White is one of the colours of the Pakistan flag, and we thought that white would be a great contrast on our Green Blazer, making it stand out. With the amazing support of the teachers and pupils of St Aloysius' College, we have so far raised £422.06."

White ribbons will be available in the Junior School to help support Armaan and Ali's cause.
