Join us on Tuesday 28th January 2020 for the return of the St Aloysius' College Romero Centre Lecture. This year we welcome Julian Filochowski, OBE, as our keynote speaker with his lecture titled:
Romero and Rutilio – the rocky road to sainthood
Archbishop Oscar Romero and Fr Rutilio Grande SJ are two 20th century Salvadoran martyrs. They are also two heroes of Pope Francis. Romero was killed as he said Mass on March 24th, 1980; three years earlier his Jesuit friend had been assassinated on the way to celebrate Mass. For these two outstanding Eucharistic martyrs, the road to canonisation was frequently blocked.
St Aloysius’ College welcomes Chair of the Archbishop Romero Trust, Julian Filochowski OBE. Working with Archbishop Romero, he became his friend and for forty years he followed both Archbishop Romero and Fr Rutilio’s journeys to sainthood. Join us at our upcoming Romero Lecture and hear him recount their stories - inspiring models for the 2020 Church.
The lecture will be held in the St Aloysius' College Hall and admission is free. You can register your place here
