St Aloysius' College Sweep Engineer Leaders Awards

St Aloysius' College Sweep Engineer Leaders Awards

We are pleased to announce that Nicholas M. (P4) was a winner at the recent Engineering Leaders Awards held at the Barony Hall, Strathclyde University for his "Medical Drone" invention.  Alice M. and Ruaridh J. (P4) also received Highly Commended awards. This was a competition for all schools in Scotland and St Aloysius' College had 15 Primary 4 projects shortlisted for the main prize.

Every pupil was asked the question: “If you were an engineer in Scotland, what would you do?” and we had some really innovative ideas, many of which focussed on improving the quality of life for others less fortunate.

Junior School Science Teacher Mr. McClintock added; “I am really impressed with the high quality of the children’s efforts and I am sure we have some future engineers in our midst”.

Well done to everyone who took part! All of the projects are still available to view at the Barony Hall until Saturday.
